The Ultimate Vinyl Experience
Parlophone Records (BMG in the USA) is proud to present a special edition of this legendary album, packaged with meticulous attention to detail. The original gatefold sleeve artwork is a sight to behold, and the vinyls themselves are a collector's dream - one in a vibrant blue, the other in sunny yellow, both featuring the remastered audio from 2015.
But here's where it gets even more exciting: the package includes a replica of the original 24-page World Slavery Tour program, bringing the tour to life for a new generation of fans. And that's not all - a glossy 12-page booklet is also included, containing an exclusive essay titled 'Rime And Punishment: Celebrating 40 Years Of Live After Death.' In this essay, Iron Maiden Fan Club editor Alexander Milas interviews key members of the band, including Steve Harris, Nicko McBrain, and Rod Smallwood, along with acclaimed illustrator Derek Riggs, offering a unique insight into the making of this iconic album.
The Making of a Legend
LIVE AFTER DEATH is not just a heavy metal masterpiece; it's a testament to the band's relentless touring schedule and their unwavering passion for their craft. As Steve Harris recalls, 'We were touring non-stop. It was a blur of recording and touring, and we loved every minute of it. We felt invincible, taking on every challenge that came our way.'
The album was mostly recorded during four nights at the Long Beach Arena in Los Angeles in March 1985, with the final side captured during the band's four-night stint at the Hammersmith Odeon in October 1984. Both sets of concerts were part of the groundbreaking World Slavery Tour, supporting the band's 1984 album Powerslave. This tour, spanning an incredible 331 days and 187 concerts, solidified Iron Maiden's reputation as one of the most electrifying live acts in music.
